HOLOGATE VIRTUAL REALITY GAMING. Hologate is a physically engaging, immersive experience that’s suitable for players of any age and skill level. The advanced graphic technology creates a realistic environment with zero motion sickness. This VR system boasts multiple games, all of which are exclusive to the Hologate platform.
FACE Amusement Group and Virtuix, developer of the Omni VR Arena virtual reality esports attraction, announced the launch of Omni VR Arena at the Rockin’ Raceway in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
As reported by Global Amusements & Play, “Using motion technology, the high-energy, four-player system is the only attraction that allows guests to experience running in virtual reality. Enhancing the guests overall experience, the attraction includes a built-in staging area with 8 seats, 11 TVs, 11 touchscreens, pre- and post-game show and recorded gameplay video for social sharing. Players have the option of 4 games ranging from co-operative arena-style shooters to player-vs-player deathmatch games. More than 300 guests played Omni Arena in its first week of operation. “We are eager to bring a new level of amusement to the classic environment of Rockin’ Raceway,” said Bucky Mabe, CEO of FACE Amusement Group. “This action-packed attraction allows guests to explore the world of virtual reality and with its 4 games and ongoing prize contests; players have plenty to keep them coming back for more.”
The Rockin’ Raceway entertainment complex is located directly on the Pigeon Forge parkway and features go-kart racing and over 150 modern arcade games.
“We’re excited to work with FACE Amusement Group and bring Omni Arena to Pigeon Forge,” said Jan Goetgeluk, CEO of Virtuix. “This is the first-of-its-kind arena in Tennessee, and we’re sponsoring a $50,000 prize pool for players to come compete against teams around the world.”
”Omni VR Arena is an anchor attraction offering a complete guest experience that lasts 15 to 20 minutes. In a recent survey of 1,100 players, 40% reported they had come to the venue specifically to play Omni VR Arena. Compared to other anchor attractions, Omni Arena is both affordable and compact. The system currently costs $121,000 and has a footprint of 375 square feet.
What this could mean? FCDN has been closely following the installs and revenues of each Virtuix Omni VR Arena and this latest install with my estimated first-week revenue of almost $4000 is great news. [I did some consulting for Virtuix prior to their 1st install at Pinballz]. I am also positive that Bucky Mabe (with Dad Clarence) will find new and innovative ways to increase those weekly revenues (the “Mabe Men” are among the top tier game and FEC operators in the entire country).
With the Virtuix eSports tournaments, the Virtuix Omni VR Arena is averaging better than twice the revenues of many of the other VR models. Note that the Omni VR Arena has also been installed at the D&B in San Antonio TX where we would expect revenues to be even higher.
